Friday Funnies (on Sunday)

Daddy: Georgia want to go fishing with me?
Georgia: (whining) NOOOOOOO!
Daddy: Want to go fishing with Grampa Jack?
Georgia: YES!!!!!! No....I dont' want to go fishing.

A little while later....

Daddy: Georgia, I am going to go up and put my fishing shoes on.
Georgia: Shoes? I want to put my fishing shoes on. I want to go fishing with my fishing shoes. I can bring my Barbie fishing pole!

Gotta love a girl that will do anything that involves accessories...a special pair of shoes and a pink Barbie fishing pole.

Fishing

Georgia went fishing out on the boat with Grampa Jack and Daddy. Daddy caught a good sized striper (26 inches) but unfortunately it was not keeper size. Grampa Jack caught a crab which Georgia had fun chasing around the boat. Georgia didn't catch any fish but was SO excited to catch seaweed. Luckily she is easy to impress!

S'mores!

Another summer means more s'mores! Even though Georgia was bathed and dressed for bed (thanks Grampa Don and Grammie Paula) we still enjoyed the messy treat!

First Day of School!

Georgia was so excited to start school we decided to embark her on the long journey of education by starting preschool this summer! She was so excited this morning to put on her backpack. Her teacher, Ms. Arlene (who Georgia insisted on calling Ms. Mona Lisa due to her continuing obsession with Mona Lisa) immediatley put her at ease. Today they made telescopes and did some painting. Georgia's favorite part was when they played on the inflatable shark (indoors due to the rainy weather...16 days of precipitation this June and counting).
Singing in excitement.
Running from the mamarazzi.
Walking up to the school.
Ms. Arlene, Georgia, and Daddy.

8 weeks and counting

Penelope is 8 weeks old now! Where the time is going???? She is smiling more each day. She loves taking baths and her big sister (who she reserves the most smiles for). She also is a fan of the popped collar/80s bad boy look.

The Last Day as a Singleton

Today we was Auntie Em's last day as a single lady! We spent the afternoon at the spa getting manicures, pedicures, and massages. Then we rehearsed at the church. The ringbearer, Anderson, and Georgia, the flower girl, were too cute together (although refused to walk together down the aisle). We had a great dinner afterwards at the Library!

Farmers' Market

Today was the first of a weekly Farmers' Market in Newburyport. It is even walking distance from our house! We are really excited to have it in town. It was raining but Georgia, Penelope, Grammie Kelsa, Grampa Jack, and the dogs braved the rain. We were rewarded with a great time and yummy food. We got to see sheep, bunnies, and chickens and we picked up some amazing strawberries, lettuce, and baked goods. We can't wait to spend every Sunday morning there until end of October.

Smiles!

Penelope starting smiling about 1.5 weeks ago but today was the first day I was able to get it on camera. She saves all her best smiles for her big sister!

Friday Funnies

As we were driving down Interstate 93

Georgia: Hey, Mom
Me: Yes?
Georgia: You see that car? The car diving next to us? (note random car next to us)
Me: Yes. Why?
Georgia: The person in that car hit me.

Um...okay. I can't wait to see how long it takes for her preschool to call or to speak to us about her.

Riding the Bus

We had to run to the mall to pick up a portrait collage we had done of Penelope (to match the one we had done of Georgia when she was a newborn). Georgia was so excited to ride on the Arthur bus that had been broken when we visited to have the photographs taken.

What?

What did you say? No way! Unbelievable!

Hippo Snuggle

Georgia sees us cuddling Penelope on our chest a lot. So it has been decided that hippo needed a bit of cuddling. Gwen felt the need to join in and help.
The hippo is actually a very very small hippo (look between Gs thumbs).

Although, we bought these muslin swaddling wraps for Penelope, Georgia LOVES them and steals them all the time!

Aquarium

Georgia, Penelope, and I went to the Aquarium today. We got to see lots of fish and shark. Georgia loved anything she recognized from Finding Nemo. We also got to see two of Georgia's favorites: turtles and penguins. We got to see the turtle and penguin feeding times. Apparently the turtle really likes brussel sprouts! We also got to see a turtle getting surgery in the ICU/Medical Ward. The turtle was being castrated due to an unfortunate incident during which a catfish did not respond favorably when the turtle attempted to mate with it. Our aquarium visit was great until I lost the stroller check tag and locked us out of the locker that had all our belongings. After we were finally able to collect our things, we went to visit Daddy at work and went out to lunch. Apparently I pushed my luck too far and attempted to stop at Trader Joes on the way home only to end up with a screaming baby and a toddler who vomited all over the floor of the store (as well as myself and herself). Yuck!

We bought Georgia this cute new Adirondack chair to sit in....
Unfortunately, she prefers this one!

Back in the Pool!

I forgot to post this last week...Georgia is back in the pool! She had a great time cooling off in the play pool and Grammie Kelsa and Grampa Jack's. She even figured out how to spray people with the water spouts!

Friday Funnies

We have embarked into the "telling of tall tales" territory. A conversation between Georgia and I:

Georgia: So, Mom....
Me: Yes, Georgia.
Georgia: So, Mom... Do you remember last year when I was a baby?
Me: Of course.
Georgia: Well, last year when I was a baby I rode on a skateboard. I fell off and they had to take me to the doctors office.
Me: Really? I don't remember that.
Georgia: I wasn't with you.
Me: You weren't? Who were you with?
Georgia: My boyfriend.

Also this week we went to a make up music class. We had never met anyone who was there. This is our lovely introduction
Me: Georgia, your pants are slipping down. Pull up your pants and undies. (I help her hike up her pants)
Georgia: Hey everybody, my crack was showing. Want to see? (She pulls her pants down and moons the class)
Classy...very classy

Story Time

In order to protect Penelope from bodily harm from her overattentive big sister, I suggested that Georgia read to Penelope when she is in her seat. She has taken to that idea and Penelope seems to enjoy it too!

Portland Playdate

We went up to Portland with Deb, Mitchell, and Rachel to meet up with Sarah, Sydney, and new baby Lillian. After a rough ride up, we had a great time playing at the playground and watching the trains go by. Here is a picture of Lillian, 2 months and on the left, and Penelope, 1 month and on the right. This was the best I could get while 3 adults wrangled 6 children. I won't even get into the excitement of the ride home (which involved meltdowns, crying, and the police).

All in a Row

Some early morning wake up calls from one Miss Georgia Cobb have been a bit rough. Sometimes a good morning snuggle can get her back to sleep. Who needs to be up at 4 am, really? Here are the girls all in a row (note Penelope sleeping in the bassinet on a major incline to help her reflux).

The Best Cookies

Thank you Martha Stewart. Because of you, we found the best cookie recipe ever. The Outrageous Chocolate Cookie recipe is a new family favorite. Very rich, very chewy...delicious!
