I went into the kitchen to make myself a bowl of cereal but someone couldn't take her eyes off me and I caught her trying to peek around the corner....

Friday Funnies
After we we lost Gwen last week, there were lots of discussions about Heaven and other dogs. This followed and then prompted me to warn her preschool teacher...
Georgia: When is Gwennie coming home?
Mama: She is not. She is in Heaven. Once you go to Heaven you can't come back. Gwen has lots of friends in Heaven. Georgia, do you remember who Gwennie is in heaven with? (expecting her to name all our families old dogs)
Georgia: Michael Jackson!
Mama: Um......
A day lounging at home...out of the blue she says:
Georgia: My belly is getting bigger.
Mama: Why?
Georgia: There is a baby in there. It is growing. It is going to come out soon.
Mama: When?
Georgia: In about 5 minutes.
Awesome...if only it was that predictable!

Congrats Erin and Geoff!
We went up to Vermont this weekend to celebrate our friends' Geoff and Erins wedding. It was a gorgeous wedding at a farm in Vermont. The ceremony overlooked the gorgeous very green mountains and hills (thanks to all the June and July rain) and the candle lit reception was under a tent at the base of the hill. The meal was delicous but more importantly all the food was local, most coming from within 15 miles of the farm. I loved the fresh bread and butter...it was like nothing I had ever had before!
Penelope enjoyed the wedding and partied it up until 10 pm (shocking since she normally turns into a pumpkin at 6:30)! She spent most of her time in the Mei Tai flirting with the boys or checking everyone out. She is quite the nosy one. Georgia enjoyed some Grampa Don and Grammie Paula time instead.

Gwen
Today we said goodbye to our dear friend Gwen. Gwen was a retired racing greyhound. She spent the first 4 years of her life at a track in a small cage, only let out 1 hour per day. She then spent 2 years in a shelter waiting to get adopted. Yes, 2 years in another small cage. We adopted Gwen when she was 6 and she spent almost 6 wonderful years at our house. She was such a cuddly dog for having limited human interaction and companionship her first 6 years. Her favorite place was on the couch beside us or up on our bed between Miles and I. She was amazing with Georgia and they were best of friends. We will miss Gwen so much but know she is happy.

The Anatomy of a Laugh
Penelope loves the wind. While we were at the park on Sunday there was a good steady breeze. She found it hilarious. I happened to be taking a boat load of pictures and got a good series of her laugh in progress. I know it may look like she is having a seizure but she is in fact laughing hysterically.
Dog Park
We took the dogs to Portsmouth Dog Park today to let them run. Georgia had a great time watching the other dogs play and helping fill up the doggie pool. We finished our trip with take out from Popovers (delicious) and a picnic at the park. We finished up a busy day with some pool time and a trip downtown for ice cream!

Friday Funnies
A conversation at the beach during Georgia's 3rd birthday party. Scene: Grampa Jack, Daddy, and Georgia high up on some rocks tide pooling...
Grampa Jack: I need to sit to get down.
Georgia: Why?
Grampa Jack: I'm not 15 anymore.
a pause..
Georgia: I know...I'm not 2 anymore.

Rub a Dub Dub
Nosy Nosy
Lil P is quite the social butterfly. There is no way she is going to go in a carrier facing me anymore (or without a fight that I usually lose due to large amount of thrashing and head twisting). And since she is such a peanut, she doesn't fit in the Mai Tei facing forward yet (or at least forward with a view...which really is her whole point). So I broke out the Baby Bjorn. Mind you, I HATED it with Georgia. Maybe that is because she was much bigger than Lil P. Anyways, I decided to try it and low and behold...we have a winner! Lil P was SO happy to have a view and as we walked downtown she talked, smiled, and laughed at everyone and everything. Such a happy lil P.
When the Georgia's away.....
the Lil P plays! Georgia is off with her Grammie Paula and Grampa Don for a little alone time and a sleepover. After almost 3 months of "neglect" (aka keep the baby off the floor to protect her from bodily harm from a "loving" big sister), we finally got some good old fashioned floor playtime and Penelope loved it! I fully admit that the advice I give patients for 10 minutes of belly time per day has yet to happen in our house. I promised Penelope that would be changing soon. Sorry for the crazy amount of pictures...I got a little carried away (you are just getting a SMALL snippet), I just LOVE this baby!

Beach Party!
Georgia wanted a beach party for her birthday since the beach is her favorite place to go! We headed out and met up with some friends and lots of family. We had a great time playing in the sand, running in and out of the cold Atlantic waters, and tidepooling. We also had some yummy food to enjoy. Overall it was a great birthday party!
The Loot!
Georgia loved her birthday presents. She got a great scooter, a bathtub for her babies, a telephone in which to return "calls" like Mama, and lots of books. Being a future nerd/dork like her parents, her favorite presents were the books! Friends and family also got her great presents including lots of fun dresses, more books, a "computer", and lots of toys for creating or exploring. She was quite a lucky girl!
Happy Birthday Georgia!
We can't believe our "baby" turns 3 today! We can't put into works how much this little girl means to us. She has filled the past 3 years of our life with so much joy and laughter. This is our attempt to show you just how special she is to us and to our family.

2 months (and counting)...
Don't you just love that pouty little face. I do....Anyways, it may be because I forgot to post about her big 2 month check. Second kids get the shaft, right? Anyways, last week Penelope had her 2 month check with Dr. Bob. She was 10 lb 9 ounces (a full 3 lbs above her birthweight) and 22.5 inches. She barely cried with the 2 shots which made Mama very happy and she loved the drinkable vaccination. She is growing well but is a such peanut (she is still wearing newborn sized clothes at 2 months even with a big cloth diaper to fill it out)! Georgia (who we always considered small) was 11 lb 12 ounces and 23.75 inches at her 2 month check!
