Happy Halloween!

We had no official trick or treating for us this year. We were to be up in Vermont for Fake Thanksgiving on Halloween night. We did, however, get Swine Flu Sally well enough to head out to her school's Halloween Party. Georgia and Penelope went as Fred and Ted. If you don't know Fred and Ted, check it out here. Georgia decided on the costumes back in MARCH and never wavered!

Happy Half Birthday P!

I cannot believe my baby girl is 6 months old today! Happy 1/2 Birthday P! She had her 6 month visit this morning and weighed in at a whopping 14 lbs! What a peanut!

Swine Flu Sally

The dreaded swine flu/h1n1 hit the house. Georgia has had a fever for 5 days over 102. Poor thing feels so yucky. Lot of naps, snuggles, fluid, and Motrin...and lots of quiet since our normally active and loud toddler is down and out!

We Got Boo'd!

We got boo'd last night! We came home to a fun Halloween treat on our doorstep! We are supposed to boo 2 others but due to our quarrantine (thanks, swine flu) we have been unable to!

The Oddysey

We took an adventure to visit the Lepores. We had a great time visiting and seeing Homer! He is walking now and has a lot to say! Penelope especially enjoyed borrowing his jumper!

Obsession

I am totally obsessed with this baby. How could you not be obsessed with this face???? And P.S. She may only be 13 lbs but her hair is growing like crazy and she can already rock the barrette.

The Bounty

We needed to do something with the bounty of apples we picked, so Georgia and I made a delicious Maple Apple Crisp. It was SO good and we didn't even use "baking" types of apples (Macoun and Courtland were used). And since I am living the dairy- and soy-free lifestyle due to Penelope's milk and soy allergy, it was made without butter. I used shortening and it tasted just as goodas the real thing. If only I could add some maple ice cream on top....

Apple Picking

We headed out to Applecrest today to pick some apples. Georgia had a great time at the petting zoo before we headed out on a tractor ride to the orchards. We picked a large peck of apples while enjoying the gorgeous fall weather. We can't wait to make some delicious treats from the yummy apples!

Prima Ballerina

We had a fun time playing dress up while Penelope napped this morning. Georgia loves her ballet gear and insisited on lots of dancing and singing. We were all required to participate. Oh...and ballerinas wear sparkly high heels...in case you didn't know.

Movin' and a Shakin'

We have a big time mover here folks. Penelope is very active during the day from trying to leap out of our arms to willing herself across the living room floor. She used to get swaddled up and put in some side positioners (for her reflux) for sleeping. Now she is wiggling right out. This is how I found her this morning a few minutes after putting her down for her nap swaddled up tight. Guess it is time to take out all the stuffed animals!

Smiles

When this girl smiles, she smiles with her whole face. It makes me melt.

Adrenaline Rush

We went with Grampa Jack and Grammy Kelsa to the Topsfield Fair today. It is the oldest agricultural fair in America, ongoing since 1818! It has much more than the agricultural aspects with rides, food, and performers. Today, the weather was downpouring one minute and sunny the next all morning. Due to that fact the fair was EMPTY. We were there from 11am-2pm and the sunshined almost the whole time (one brief downpour while we were in the chicken house). Georgia had a great time looking at the animals including funky chickens, camels, elephants, cows, horse, sheep, and bunnies. Then, our little Miss Timid decided to try a ride and she got hooked...the scarier the ride the better and included the ferris wheel and a mini-roller coaster!

This chicken (the top prize winner who was actually raised by a young Newburyport boy we often see at the farmers market) was the only thing at the fair with more hair volume than Penelope.

The first ride Georgia tried (we thought it just went back and forth...not spinning AND back and forth). Luckily she was giggling and squealing in delight!
